Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier are my all time favourite acting duo. He introduced me to Shakespeare through his film of Richard 111 and Vivien Leigh i think was a good actor but unfortunately sometimes she had to walk in Olivier's shadow as he was such an actor of diverse talents. Some of the critics during their partnership on stage and screen that Olivier played down his own talents to make Vivien Leigh look better than she was. But her contribution to the acting partnership i think was not o be dismissed as less an acting talent. I liked Vivien in a Streetcar names Desire she really made the part her own with such pathos as did Laurence Olivier with his three Shakespeare films Henry V, Richard 111, and Hamlet. It is a sad fact that theiur marriage was stormy and they parted in the early 60's and she went on to die at an early age of only 53 years old, he continued to wow the theatre going audiences with his great talent.
